What matters most
Start with verbs that let you communicate immediately.
- Verbs conjugate by person. Start with present tense + common verbs (olla, haluta, mennä).
Olen täällä.
I am here.
Menemme kotiin.
We go home.
Haluan kahvia.
I want coffee.
Haluan vettä.
I want water. (partitive)
En ymmärrä.
I don't understand.
Puhutko englantia?
Do you speak English?
Missä on wc?
Where is the bathroom/toilet?
Tämä on ystäväni.
This is my friend.
