Verbs: the present tense you’ll actually use

A practical way to start using verbs without getting stuck in conjugation tables.

What matters most

Start with verbs that let you communicate immediately.

  • Present often ends in -r: jeg snakker.
  • Future commonly uses skal + infinitive.
Jeg skal gå.
I will go.
Jeg gikk i går.
I went yesterday.
Jeg er her.
I am here.
Jeg vil ha vann.
I want water.
