Noun phrases
Learn noun phrases as chunks you can reuse in conversation.
- Two main genders: en-words and ett-words.
- Definite form is often a suffix: en bil → bilen, ett hus → huset.
- With adjectives, Swedish often uses both a separate article and the suffix: den stora bilen.
- Articles are high frequency — learn nouns together with their article (or marker).
- Treat common phrases as single chunks.
